(L-17) Digital workflows for the treatment of patients with tumor-related facial defects –
Experiences from the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Mainz

Speaker: Dr. D. Müller-Winter I Mainz, DE

Summary:

Ablative tumor surgery of the head and neck frequently results in complex facial defects requiring rehabilitation strategies that balance function, aesthetics, and quality of life. At the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, University Medical Center Mainz, we have implemented a digital workflow spanning imaging, virtual planning, and CAD/CAM-based fabrication for the prosthetic and epithetic care of these patients. We present our clinical experience and discuss the potential of digital approaches to improve fit accuracy, efficiency, and patient-centered outcomes in facial epithesis rehabilitation.
