Summary:

Necessity is the mother of invention. As an anaplastologist, you always hope that each patient will be an “ideal” case, for the benefit of the patient’s rehabilitation, and for a straightforward process in creating a high quality prosthesis for them. However, as every anaplastologist knows, this is not always the case. In fact, a textbook case is quite rare. Each patient presents a unique situation with very specific circumstances and challenges to address. The surgical area may be very large, or exceptionally small. Implants can be in difficult to access positions, or implant loss can occur. There are 1000 factors that can pose a challenge, each requiring a different plan of action. When a standard approach isn’t the best option, creative troubleshooting can lead to surprisingly positive solutions. This presentation will focus on several unique patient cases which required less conventional techniques in order to achieve an acceptable aesthetic result. In each situation, the patient did not have implants due to a variety of factors, and a custom attachment method was implemented.
